RAM prices are still far too high across the board, with prices having quadrupled and more since this time last year. The saviour of RAM pricing has been companies offsetting the RAM outlay by offering bundled combo deals, which have enabled them to reduce the overall cost of RAM for consumers. Newegg has had some outstanding combo deals the last several months, and today's offering is also very interesting. Currently, you can pick up the fastest gaming CPU, the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, along with an MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, 32GB of V-Color XFinity+ DDR5-6000 RAM, and a 750W Rosewill power supply, all for $829.99. That's a chunk off the original $1167.97 list price for these components, saving you a healthy $337.98. Crucially, price of the CPU and motherboard (not inflated by the AI squeeze) means the relative cost of the RAM is just $126. Subtract the $70 gifted power supply, and you're technically paying just $56.

Released a few months ago, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is the fastest gaming CPU on the planet, as per our testing data below. Take a look at our review of the Ryzen 7 9850X3D to see the performance gains over the previous king of gaming, the 9800X3D.

This particular bundle includes the MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFI AM5 motherboard, an AM5 socket board that's perfectly matched to house a top-end gaming CPU. Packed with features, the X870 Tomahawk comes with 40Gbps USB-C, PCIe 5.0, four M.2 slots, Wi-Fi 7, and 5GbE LAN.

The 32GB of RAM is from V-Color and is the OLED XFinity+ kit clocked at 6000MHz. It hits the sweetspot for speed for the AM5 platform, and also features a little OLED screen on the heatsink, which can display temperature and the speed of the hardware. The timings of the RAM kit are 38-38-76, with a CAS latency of CL30. Only one module in the kit will have a screen on it.

Also, Newegg has bundled in an extra free gift with the purchase of a qualifying combo, the Rosewill VSB 750W 80+ Bronze PSU. Although a solid power supply, we would recommend splashing out on a better PSU for a high-end gaming rig, especially if you're going big with the GPU.

So, if you're looking for the foundations of a new high-spec gaming PC, then this Newegg combo deal is a very good start, and it will save you some money off the bat. To get the most out of the CPU, you will want to pair it with a high-end graphics card and a monitor that's able to display high refresh rates.
